Some of the music in the 1960s was used to protest social and political issues. Is music still used as a form of protest? Why or why not?

    Music today is still used for protest, however, similarly to the 60s, it is still very counter cultural as it does not conform to the standards set by the mainstream media, which is why you cannot accidentally find such such music on your famous radio station. Usually it is done by people who are not as big artists and have creative freedom over their work. Rap music often deals with such topics.

    Music today such as rap and hip-hop is often used to protest issues such as racism existing within our society. It is used because it’s a good way for young adults from African-American background to express themselves.
