What happens when an experiment with new information or new technology produces results that support an existing theory?

    If a scientific theory is confirmed empirically, then it ceases to be a theory and becomes a scientific fact. However, the scientific theory in itself is the result of research and is supported by strong evidence. The theory in science is a complete form of scientific knowledge. This sets it apart from common understanding of the word theory, which suggests a lack of evidence
