Answer: The nature of covenant between Yahweh and the Israelites was conditional.

The moral significance was if the children of Israel were faithful and keep God's commandments, he would bless and protect them.

Explanation:

The covenant between Yahweh and the Israelites was from God and was to benefit the people while the Hammurabi's code was by the god of sun, Shamash, anum & Enlil, and was more of self-serving to guide the people in the right path. Hammurabi's code propels motivation for longetivity and prosperity while the covenant was God gathering his own people.

The covenant covers the different social classes of people in the society but the Hammurabi's code gives special preference to people of middle and higher classes. They differ in morality as well, the Hammurabi's code listed ten varieties of body mutilation awarded to several offences, the covenant placed more emphasis on life of humans.
