Last year 950 people attended a towns annual parade. this year 1520 people attended. what was the percent increase in attendance from last year to this year?

    1520-950/950 x 100

    570/950 x 100 = 60%

    The answer is 60%

    I found that 10% of 950 was 95 so I kept adding that.

    Then I found that 160% was 1520.

    The difference between 160 and 100 is 60.
