Carrie and krystal are taking a road trip from Greenville to north valley. each person has her own map, and the scales on the maps are different.

a. on carries map, Greenville and north valley are 4.5 inches apart. the scale on her map is 1 inch=20 miles

b. the scale on krystal's map is 1 inch=18 miles. how far apart are Greenville and north valley on krystal's map.

    If their scales are different, then you need to find the distance in miles on Carrie's map then convert it to inches using Krystal's scaling. If we multiply 4.5*20, you get 90 miles. then if you divide 90/18 you get 5. On Krystal's map they would be 5 inches apart
