Russ and Vicki are trying to solve this problem:

There are 146 students taking buses to the museum. If each bus holds 24 students, how many buses will they need?

Russ says the students need 6 buses. Vickie says they need7 buses. Who is corret? Explain your reasoning.

    You divide 146 and 24 if its six Russ is correct if its Vickie 7 she's correct

    Vickie is correct because, since you have more people than can fit onto 6 busses you have to have 7. This is because you can't have half a bus or a quarter of a bus or anything less than a whole bus. In problems like this, you always have to round up in order it fulfill the real world aspect of the problem
