That the result will be negative

    because

    a negative number, example - 2 is equal to - 1 times 2

    odd power

    even powers cancel negatives

    so examle

    (-2) ^3 = ((2^3) ((-1) ^3) = (8) (-1) = - 8

the concluseion is that the result will be negative
