He can make 48 1-ounce bags out of the 3 pound bag of trail mix he bought.

1 pound is equivalent to 16 ounces. So we just multiply the 3 pound bag by 16 ounces.

3 pound bag x 16 ounces per pound = 48 ounces in total.

On the other hand, 1 ounce is equivalent to 0.0625 pounds.

If he bought 48 ounces and wants it to be in pounds. Simply multiply the total number of ounces by its pound equivalent

    48 ounces * 0.0625 pounds per ounce = 3 pounds
