Max wants to decorate a 2-inch border around the edge of a poster he is making. He drew this diagram to show how it should look. How many square inches of border will Max decorate? Two rectangles, one lying completely within the other. The area between the rectangles is shaded. Two adjacent sides of the larger are labeled eighteen inches and twelve inches. The shaded area is labeled 2 inch border.
