    Multiply y by 4, and your equation is now 3x-16=65. Add 16. 3x=81. Your answer is 27.

    So we r gonna sub in 4 for y and solve for x

    3x - 4y = 65

    3x - 4 (4) = 65

    3x - 16 = 65

    3x = 65 + 16

    3x = 81

    x = 81/3

    x = 27 ... so when y = 4, x = 27
