The sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 5:7 and the perimeter of the rectangle is 96cm. What is the area of the rectangle?

    Width = 5x

    length = 7x

    Perimeter = 10x + 14x = 24x = 96cm

    x = 96/24 = 4cm

    width = 5x = 20cm

    length = 7x = 28cm

    Area = (20cm x 28cm) = 560 cm²
