A card is picked at random from a standard deck of cards. What is the sample space for this experiment if you were trying to find P (face card) ?

    There are 52 cards in a deck. Each deck has 4 suits. Each suit has a jack, queen and king.

    Therefore if all 4 suits have 3 face cards, then there's a total of 12 face cards in a deck.

    Therefore there is a 13 in 52 chance that the card chosen would be a face card.
