Mr. Andrew had a piece of construction paper with an area of 9/16 square yard. The width of the paper was 1/2 yard. What was the length of the piece of construction paper?

    Area of the construction paper = 9/16 square yard

    Width of the paper (W) = 1/2 yard

    Length of the paper (L) = ?

    Area = length x width = L x W

    9/16 = L x 1/2

    L = 9/16 x 2 = 1.125 yards
