3. The results of the primary election are shown. (a) Order the popularity of the choices from greatest to least. (b) It was estimated that 280 people were going to vote. If this was true, how many people would have voted for Goron? Show your work. (c) 40 people voted for "Other." Was the estimate of total voters from Part (b) accurate? Explain. Answer:

    (a) greatest to least : Fisherman, Goron, Smith, Other

    (b) 35% of 280 = 0.35 (280) = 98 ppl would have voted for Goron

    (c) 10% of what = 40 ... 0.10x = 40 ... x = 40/0.10 ... x = 400 ... the estimate of people voting is NOT accurate. Because if " other " = 10% ... and "other " = 40, then the total number of voters is 400 giving Goron (0.35 (400) = 140 votes
