An 8-oz of orange juice contains about 97 mg of vitamin C. About how many milligrams of vitamin C are there in a 12-oz can of orange juice?

    8/97 = 12/x ... 8 oz to 97 mg = 12 oz to x mg

    cross multiply

    (8) (x) = (97) (12)

    8x = 1164

    x = 1164/8

    x = 145.5 (or 145 1/2) mg
