Children's tickets to a movie cost $4.00. Adults tickets cost $7.00. If 275 tickets were sold for a total of $1574.00, how many of each type of ticket were sold?

    2. X+Y = 275

    3. X = 275 - Y

    4. 4 * (275-Y) + 7Y = 1574

    5. 1100 - 4Y + 7Y = 1574

    6. 3Y = 1574 - 1100

    7. 3Y = 474

    8. Y = 158 (Adult ticket)

    9. X = 275 - 158

    10. X = 117 (Children ticket)
