    Mean of 6 numbers is 41 means

    (x+y+z+t+a+b) / 6=41

    (x+5morenumbers) / 6=41

    if 1 is removed (say x)

    mean iof 5 numbers is 46

    (5morenumbers) / 5=46

    multiply first equaiton by 6 and second eqiaton by 5 to clear fractions

    x+5morenumbers=246

    5morenumbers=230

    sub 230 for 5morenumbers in first equaiton

    x+230=246

    minus 230 both sides

    x=16

    the unknown is 16
