Miriam needs to buy new notebooks for school. The notebooks cost $0.98 each including tax. Miriam's mother gave her $6.45 and told her to buy 8 notebooks. Did her mother give her enough money?

    You have to pick the amount of money she has and divide by the price of each notebook to see how many she can buy. So 6.45/0.98 = 6.6 so she could buy only 6 notebooks.

    0.98 is near 1 so you can imagine by seeing the price of each that will be almost $1 per notebook so with $6.45 isn't enough.
