Joshua has a piece of wood that measures 10 1/8 feet. He wants to make 5 shelves. If each shelf 1 3/4 feet long, does he have enough to make 5 shelves? Explain.

    10.125 / 1.75 = 5.8

    Yes he will have enough wood because if you divide 10 1/8 ft. by 1 3/4 ft, you have 5 4/5 ft. of wood.
