Without using a ruler, explain why it makes sense that - 4 - (-8) is less than - 4 - (10)

    4 - (-8) using keep change change the problem turns into

    4 + (+8) and that equals 12

    -4 - (10) using keep change change

    -4+-10 witch is - 14 so your question dosnt make sence

    In the parenthesis of the second on it would have to have a negative sign to be considered less
