    1 m = 100 cm

Take the cube of both sides

    (1m) ³ = (100cm) ³

    1³ m³ = 100³ cm³

    (1*1*1) m³ = (100*100*100) cm³

    1 m³ = 1 000 000 cm³

    Therefore 1 000 000 cm³ = 1 m³

One million cubic centimeters = One cubic meters.

    Hope this explains it.

If the 1m turns into 3m then he cm increases also by 3. The 3 meters would equal 300 cm.
