Some pleated draperies must be twice as wide as the window they cover. how many square yards of material are needed to cover this kind of window 2 ft. wide and 3 ft. long? 12 4 1 1/3

    The window is 2/3 yd by 1 yd, so its area is

    ... area = length*width = (2/3 yd) * (1 yd) = 2/3 yd^2

    Double that amount of material would be 4/3 yd^2 = 1 1/3 yd^2.
