A chain of bookstores sold 1 million books. group of people who bought the most books are 55yrs, bought 40%how many books did they buy?

    The 55 year olds bought 40% of the book.

    40% of 1 000 000.

    = (40 / 100) * 1 000 000

    = 0.4 * 1 000 000

    = 400 000

    They bought four hundred thousand books.

    I hope this explains it.
