To determine the difference in the number of pints packs per hour, you will use each rate and determine how many pints are packed per one hour.

3 pints every four minutes equals 45 pints per hour. (x15).

2 pints every three minutes equals 40 pints per hour (x20).

    The difference is 5 pints.

The difference is an amount of 1/12 of a pint per minute.

To find the difference we need to subtract the two rates.

In the morning, the rate is 3/4.

In the afternoon, the rate is 2/3.

    3/4 - 2/3

    9/12 - 8/12

    1/12
