    x = the price of 1 kg of cookies

    x + 1.40 = the price of 1 kg of candy ($1 40 cents = $1.40)

    The price of 600 grams of candy and 1.5 kg of cookies was 4 dollars and 62 cents = $4.62

    0.60 (x + 1.40) + 1.50*x = 4.62

    x = $1.80
