    This is the concept of algebra, we are required to calculate for h (1) given that,

    f (x) = 2x^2-x+5; g (x) = 3x^2-3x-2 and h (x) = f (x) + g (x)

    here we proceed as follows;

    h (x) = f (x) + g (x)

    h (x) = 2x^2-x+5+3x^2-3x-2

    collecting the like terms we get;

    h (x) = (2x^2+3x^2) + (-x-3x) + (5-2)

    h (x) = 5x^2-4x+3

    thus

    h (1) = 5 (1) ^2-4 (1) + 3

    h (1) = 5-4+3

    h (1) = 8-4=4

    hence;

    h (1) = 4
