    The operation that would represent a ratio would be division. A ratio, in mathematics, relates two numbers which indicates how many time is the first value contains the second value. It says how much of something is there as compared to another thing. For example, we have 3 blue circles to 1 red circle, it would be written as 3/1 or 3:1. Ratio and division are closely related. However, ratio is a relationship between things and division is an operation that can be used in this relationship but is not limited to this problem. If you are given 14 dogs, 7 chickens and 21 cows, the ratio would be 2:1:3. Indeed, you have divided the values but this is a ratio problem rather than a division problem.
