The radius of Mars is about 3400 km. Olympus Mons is a volcano on mars. At 27km high, Olympus Mons is the tallest volcano in the solar system. How far could an astronaut see on the surface of Mars, standing on the peak on Olympus Mons?

    The distance an astronaut standing at the peak of Olympus Mons can see will be solved using Pythagorean theorem,

    c^2=a^2+b^2

    thus

    c^2 = 27^2+3400^2

    c=√11,560,729

    c=3400.107 km
