If the length and width of a rectangular solid are increased by 10% and the height is increased by 20%, by what percent is the volume of the solid increased

    LWH=V

    increasse by 10% means times 1.10

    increase by 20% is times 1.20

    L turns to 1.1L

    W turns to 1.1W

    H turns to 1.2H

    (1.1L) (1.1W) (1.2H) = 1.452LWH

    so it is increased by 45.2%
