    Hello:

    y² - x + 2y - 2 = 0

    (y²+2y + 1) - 1-x-2 = 0

    (y+1) ² = x+3

    let:

    y+1 = Y

    x+3 = X

    Y² = X ... the conic is a parabola

    the vertex is: (-3,-1) and axis symetry is the line : y = - 1
