    Factors of constant term (-12) = + / - 1, + / - 2, + / - 3, + / - 4, + / - 6, + / - 12 (=p)

    Factors of leading coefficient (20) = + / - 1, + / - 2, + / - 4, + / - 5, + / - 10, + / - 20. (=q)

    possible roots are p/q = + / - 1/1, + / - 1/2, + / - 1/4, + / - 1/5 ... and so on
