    p=2w+2 (6w-4) can be simplified to:

    p=2w+12w-8

    p=14w-8

    if w=4

    p=14 (4) - 8

    p=56-8 = 48 yards

    check:

    w = 4

    length = 6w-4 = 6 (4) - 4 = 24-4=20

    perimeter = 4*2 + 20*2 = 8+40 = 48

    it checks out, perimeter = 48 yards
