A baseball team has three different pitchers. Randy pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 runs, Felix pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 runs, and Johan pitched 7 innings and allowed 5 runs. Which pitcher has the lowest number of runs allowed per inning?

    What we are going to do in this case is to calculate the number of races allowed per inning.

    We have then:

    Randy pitched 3 innings and allowed 2 runs:

    (2/3) = 0.666666667

    Felix pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 runs:

    (4/5) = 0.8

    Johan pitched 7 innings and allowed 5 runs:

    (5/7) = 0.714285714

    Answer:

    Randy has the lowest number of runs allowed per inning
