    1. Since so many people were pushing for religious reform they felt that reform was needed in other places too so they became social reformers.

    2. Both The First and The Second Great Awaking sparked by declining church attendance and included mass preaching. The experience often made men and women eager to reform both their own lives and the world.

    3. The First Great Awakening involved a move away from ritual and doctrine as central to the religious experience and toward a personal religion fostering a deep sense of spiritual guilt and redemption, and encouraging introspection and a commitment to a new standard of personal morality. But the Second Great Awakening expressed a theology of individual salvation through revivals.

    Q. Why do you think so many people who were caught up in the Second Great Awakening became social reformers?

    A. I think so many people who were caught up in the Second Great Awakening became social reformers because of what they went through such as women and the women's rights movement. They finally after a long time thought no more unfairness, bring equality. Many people struggled in the period before the Second Great Awakening of unfairness and there are still temperance movements today and more.

There were main people in each of the movements such as Dorothea Dix of the "health" movement. As a result of her, the first generation of American mental aslusyms were created. They inspired the world or many other people to join as a social reformer.
