The end of the road is 15/16 of a mile away. Luke walked 7/8 of a mile down the road. How much further did he need to walk?

    This is simple to figure out just reverse what they have already simplified. 8 can go into 16 twice. So ...

    8*2=16

    7*2=14

    7/8 also equals 14/16

    14/16 to 15/16

    So ... Luke needed to walk 1/16 of a mile.
