Only q represents a a function, as in order for f (x) or a graph to be considered a function, each x value must have a unique y value. The domain may repeat, however the range cannot. In this particular case, for f (p) the number - 7 repeated twice in the range, therefore it is not a function. However, in f (q), each xa value corresponded to a unique y value, making a it a function.
