21-18 is 3, therefore 3 people will have to ride in the car

Because 3•6 is 18, 18 people will ride in the van and 3 in the car

Their 3 vans and each van can only take 6 people so 6x3 = 18

So their are 22 people, 18 of them are riding in the vans how many are left.

To answer that we have to subtract 18 from 22, are answer will be 3.
