Simplify each expression

9 (2x) + 4

4 (8x+3y) - 2y

    18x+4 ... 9 times 2x is 18 x and you cannot add 4 to 18x because they are not like terms.

    32x+10y ... 4 times 8x is 32 and 4 times 3y is 12y. You then subtract 2y from 12y to get 10y.

    4 (8x+3y) - 2y = 32x+10y
