A rectangle has a length of 3.6 in. and a perimeter of 16.8 in. enter the width of the rectangle, in decimal form, in the box.

    The perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of all the side lengths of the rectangle. For a rectangle, we two lengths and two widths so the perimeter can be calculated as:

    P = 2l + 2w

    We can use this formula to calculate for the width.

    16.8 = 2 (3.6) + 2w

    w = (16.8 - 2 (3.6)) / 2

    w = 4.8 in
