A monument is 75 meters high. At an information booth, an observer notices the angle of elevation to the top of the monument is 36 degrees. How far is the observer from the base of the building?

    Cos36=75/x

    x=75/cos36

    x is the distance of the observer from the base this is done by the use of CosA (adj side) H (hypotenuse)

    Tan (36) = height/distance

    0.727 = 75/distance

    distance = 103.23
