An electrician cut 36 feet of wire into sections that were each 8 feet long. After cutting, how many pieces of wire did the contractor have?

    divide 36 by 8

    36 / 8 = 4.5

    so he had 4 pieces that were 8 feet long and he had 1 piece 4 feet long

    so he had 5 pieces of wire
