In the function y = 3 (x - 1) 2 + 2, explain how can you tell whether the graph will open up or down without graphing it on the calculator.

    Since there is a + 2 in the end it shows that the graph went up 2 units.

    y = a (x + h) + k

    K shows if the graph is going up or down
