We can solve this to get the unit rate by doing this:-

    5/2=1/4

    5*4/2*1 = 20/2

    20/2=10

Or we could have done it this way:

    5/2=2.5

    2.5*4 = 10

Either way we solve this ... our answer will always be 10 miles per hour or 10 mph

    (5/2 mile) : (1/4 hour)

    = (5/2) x (4/1) mph

    = (20 / 2) = 10 mph
