Set each pay to equal each other and solve ...

185 + 0.03x = 275 + 0.025x

-185 - 185

0.03x = 90 + 0.025x

-0.025x - 0.025x

0.005x = 90 (divide both sides by 0.005)

x = 18000

substituting that back into each equation, their paychecks would be equal at $725.00
