How do you solve an equation in one variable

    Is this what you mean? 3x+4x+6=13

    Ok if this is it then you combine like terms.

    In this case our like terms are 3x and 4x.

    That will give us:

    7x+6=13

    Now subtract 6 from each side.

    7x = 7

    Divide each side by 7

    X = 1
