    Yes because it is a negative number which, on a number line, is behind 0.

    Yes negative two is less than zero because negatives number on a line go to the left, zero in the middle of course, and positive on the right, so since negative numbers are less than positive (not saying that 0 is positive or negative), than they are also less than zero. so - 2 < 0 is true. Since negatives/positives are like up/down, left/right, good/bad, opposites like that than negatives will always be lower.
