Plug in - 2 for x and evaluate.

    f (-2) = (-2) ^4 + 3 (-2) ^3 - 6 (-2) ^2 + 3

    f (-2) = 16 - 24 - 24 + 3

    f (-2) = - 29

-2 is not a zero of the polynomial.
