We are given that the ocicat eat 3 / 5 pound of food daily and we are to find the number of ocicats a 19 ½ pound of food can feed for a week.

    Rate per day = 3 / 5 pound per ocicat = 0.6 pound / (ocicat * day)

    Total food = 19 ½ pound = 39 / 2 pound

    Total days = 1 week = 7 days

To find for the total number of ocicats we use the formula (on the basis of the units):

Total number of ocicats = Total food / (Rate per day * Total days)

    Total number of ocicats = (39/2 pound) / [ (0.6 pound / (ocicat * day) (7 days) ]

Total number of ocicats = 4.64

Therefore this can feed about 4 ocicats only.
