The length of a side of an equailateral triangle is x-4.5. First express its perimeter as a sum. Next express its perimeter as a product. Explain why the two expressions are equivalent

    (x-4.5) + (x-4.5) + (x-4.5)

    3 (x-4.5)

    Those 2 expressions are equivalent because 3x is the same as x+x+x so (x-4.5) + (x-4.5) + (x-4.5) should be the same as 3 (x-4.5)
