A landscape company charges $100 plus $15 per hour. another company charges $75 plus $17 per hour. how long is a job that costs the same no matter which company is used

    To do this you equate the two and use x for hours.

    So your equation looks like this: 100+15x=75+17x. Now move like terms to get 25=2x. The job will be 12.5 hours long to cost the same.
